This information will help us identify when and where the product was manufactured. Are all your foods preservative free? Yes. We do not use any chemical preservatives or added nitrites in any of our foods. We also never use celery extracts, meaning our foods are truly preservative free. Do any of your foods contain celery extracts? No. Avoiding the use of celery extracts is part of our commitment to making great tasting foods that are truly preservative free. Meat products that contain celery extracts can have as much, and often more nitrites than processed meats that list sodium nitrite on their labels. I see fruit and spice extracts listed as an ingredient. What are fruit and spice extracts? Fruit and spice extracts are made from a mix of fruits rich in antioxidants and polyphenols like grapes and pomegranate. They are used to help us provide you with the freshest, highest quality foods possible. You can be rest assured they are completely natural, and like all our ingredients, contain no celery extracts. Do you use animals raised with antibiotics? No. All of our foods are made using animals that have been raised without the use of antibiotics from start to finish. Are all your foods organic? We offer a range of organic and raised-without-antibiotics options across our line. Availability may vary by item and retailer. What does G.A.P. Animal Welfare Certified mean? Global Animal Partnership (G.A.P), is an independent organization with science-based animal welfare standards that are verified by third-party audits. It's added reassurance that animals are raised with care. How long will McLean Natural Meats stay fresh after opening? Our meats will stay fresh for 4-5 days after opening if kept refrigerated and well wrapped. Where can I buy McLean Natural Meats? Our foods are available at select grocery and natural food stores across Canada. Availability may vary by location. You can check the store locator on our home page to see where our foods are available near you. Are your foods made in Canada? Yes. The vast majority of our foods are made in Canada. Two items, our prosciutto and bulk roast beef, are produced outside of Canada due to sourcing and availability. No matter where they’re made, all of our foods meet the same high standards you expect from McLean Natural Meats.
