Carbonara is an Italian pasta dish from Rome made with egg, hard cheese, Italian bacon, and pepper. The recipe is not fixed, with any sort of hard cheese and any kind of pasta being acceptable. Our McLean version uses our famous “CLEAN & LEAN” Turkey Bacon, but feel free to substitute with our sugar free organic bacons. If you use the pork bacon you don’t need to add butter.


Ingredients:

  • 1 table spoon of butter
  • ½ a pack of McLean Turkey Bacon
  • ½ cup of parmesan grated cheese
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 gr of your favourite pasta

Instructions:

  1. Mix the parmesan cheese and eggs until creamy
  2. Cook your favourite pasta and reserve some pasta water
  3. Slice bacon into small squares
  4. Sauté bacon with butter until crispy
  5. Turn the heat off
  6. Add warm pasta and mix it
  7. Add cheese and egg mixture
  8. Mix until sauce melts into pasta, add some pasta water if necessary.
